The Dress

I always knew that I would not be wearing white on my wedding. I really don't like white and it is not my most flattering colour as it just blends into my skin and makes me look washed out... and really huge. And wearing some other variation of white (ivory, pale gold, or pastel) was just not going to cut it either.

So, I have now found my dress and it is red! This is the dress I will be wearing to the wedding ceremony. I saw it on the Maggie Sottero website and found a wedding store in the US who had an online store to buy the dress from Maggie Sottero. Fortunately I had paid for the dress in full before the "financial crisis" occured and the Aussie dollar went way south.
The dress is very flattering and definitely suits me better than a white dress. I love how it is a corset back to the dress as this helps "pull" my stomach into place and actually makes me look like I have a flat stomach. I also really like the gold lacing on the bottom of the dress, as it adds a glamour to the dress. I definitely felt wonderful when I tried on the dress. I suppose our wedding theme will be based around the dress, even though I wanted red and gold to feature in the wedding anyway.

The Date

We will be having our wedding at the University of Western Australia, in the Tropical Grove. It is a beautiful garden setting with plenty of shade (which will be pretty useful in the Perth summer weather). We went there with Chee's parents and it was a mid 30 degree day and it was actually really cool and nice in the Tropical Grove. Luckily, I am a graduate from UWA, so I was able to get a 50% discount on the booking fee.

Our blog!

Hi! We are both very excited about having made our wedding blog. I am particularly excited, because I always like to start new projects in which I can be creative.

Our wedding theme colours are red and gold, with accents of white.

In this blog, we hope to put in all the details that will lead up to our wedding. I hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as I think we will enjoy making it!
